After months of anticipation, the Washington Capitals officially released their Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey on Thursday, along with 31 other NHL franchises.
The Capitals’ new RR jersey is black with the popular Screaming Eagle logo on the chest.
The waist of the jersey features blue, bronze and white twill stripes, including capital letters and symmetrical stripes in a serif font.
Bronze is bold and has a certain metallic or shimmery look depending on its texture.
The Capitol Dome logo remains the team’s epaulet.
Reminiscent of the Capital Sweatshirt from 1995, the reverse retro sweatshirt comes in a blue, black and bronze color scheme.
The Reverse Retro jersey also features the Screaming Eagle design, which launched in 2020 as the team’s first Reverse retro jersey in a red color scheme.
This jersey is the marriage of the Capitals’ first-ever third jersey, which became the road jersey in 2000 and the “Eagle” logo on the team’s jersey.
On June 22, 1995, the capital first adopted a blue, black and bronze hawk colour scheme.
The 1995-96 season was the first year of the blue, black and bronze jerseys, which featured the Capitol on the shoulders. This year’s reverse retro is the first season, and it’s mostly black jerseys with screaming eagles.
